We’ve seen people over Reddit go over some crazy tech experiments and it looks like the Nintendo Switch Dock has received a modified makeover.
CASS Designs, a growing 3D Printing YouTube channel took the challenge of recreating the dock from BMO, who is a living Gameboy from the popular Cartoon Network TV show, Adventure Time.
The Reddit thread took off this week with over 14,000 upvotes and it had a fair share of praises and criticisms.
How Much Does A BMO Switch Dock Cost?
According to CASS Designs, aside from one of their subscribers requesting for this passion project, they found inspiration from Etsy which is a popular marketplace famous for unique and creative goods.
Getting a BMO themed Switch dock would cost you around $160 to $200 depending on which supplier you’re getting from.
A Closer Look At The Design
Since people have been selling this over at Etsy, CASS Designs thought of adding some more ideas to his design so it can stand out from the existing designs: creating a storage area for the Nintendo Switch game cartridges via BMO’s disc slot and docking the Switch to its USB-C charger without the need of plugging it in.
The BMO-inspired Switch Dock was created using the Autodesk Fusion 360 for the software and the Creality Ender 3 3D Printer for the hardware. As for the 3D files, they said that they might upload the design this week.
One user got disappointed because of how the charging cable wasn’t secured better but CASS Designs mentioned that they designed a small bracket to hold the USB-C cable vertically. Because of some issues with the 3D printer, the game holder ended up holding the cable horizontally.
