Masks are among the products that surged in popularity and demand during the pandemic. So it’s no wonder why there’s always a new smart mask coming out now and again. There was the CX9 Smart Mask in August last year and just recently, Razer took their very own smart mask called “Project Hazel” to CES 2021. But today, let’s focus on ATMOBLUE, which is a live campaign currently making noise on the crowdfunding scene.
Marketed as the “world’s first wearable smart air purifier”, ATMOBLUE has received more than $1,512,000 on Indiegogo and Kickstarter. So why is it such a hit? Let’s find out here. Don’t have time to read the whole thing? Click on any of the links below to skip to that section.
What if you can take an air purifier anywhere you go and wear it around your face as a mask? That’s exactly what the ATMOBLUE offers. It can block 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Start breathing cleaner and healthier air with ATMOBLUE.
- Can be worn with glasses (does not fog up vision)
- High particle removal efficiency
- Solid and durable
- App is still under development
ATMOBLUE functions like an air purifier. It is made with the latest technologies found in high-end purifiers of today. So it efficiently sucks the bad air in and cleans it before it can reach you. But because it is designed as a mask, it allows you to breathe fresh and filtered air on-demand, no matter where you are.
This smart wearable air purifier was designed to address what other masks couldn’t do – to filter smaller particles like bacteria and PM2.5. And with the use of an industrial-grade filter with their masks, the ATMOBLUE did just that.
In terms of price, the ATMOBLUE isn’t bad either. At a discounted price of $129 on Indiegogo, it’s cheaper than the Active+ Halo, which costs $149.99. But without the discount, it will cost $198.46. So better hurry before the ATMOBLUE sale ends.
Air Filtration System
The ATMOBLUE utilizes a patented air filtration system that uses an industrial-grade H13 HEPA filter capable of blocking 99.97% of air particles. This makes it better than N95 masks, which can capture 95% of particles, and N99 masks, which offer 99% protection. So with the ATMOBLUE, you can protect yourself from harmful chemicals, pollen, smoke, pollutants, micro-dust, odor, viruses, and bacteria.
The H13 HEPA filters are replaceable and they have an average use time of 150 hours or approximately 4-6 weeks (for light to moderate use). They are cheap too, costing only $1 a set (6 cartridges).
Air Flow Technology
Depending on your activity and needs, you can select from three airflow settings. When sitting idly in a car, train, or park, you can use the “Light Mode”. For activities like jogging or when you need to breathe in more air, you can choose the high setting.
ATMOBLUE is made with a silicone seal that’s lightweight and dermatologically-friendly. This ensures good air stays in and bad air stays out. Also, this will make sure there’s enough room between your face and the mask.
Patented Head Strap
ATMOBLUE comes with a patented head strap that will allow you to move your head comfortably in any direction. It is flexible, flowing through the mask, around your neck, and your head. This ensures a tight and secure fit, preventing the mask from falling off.
All ATMOBLUE masks can be controlled through an application – in the future. As of date, the app is still under development. Once ready, you can use it to personalize your airflow settings, check the air quality index, and confirm your filter’s life.
|Charging||USB-C cable (included) with 5V 1A wall charger (not included)|
|Battery Life||Up to 8 hours|
Based on their Indiegogo campaign, the company claims improvements on the battery. What used to be 3-5 running time on Kickstarter, the new battery life now extends up to 8 hours. But that still depends on your use, specifically on the fan speed. Nonetheless, this is great news.
Compared with other smart masks today, the ATMOBLUE offers maximum protection by blocking 99.97% of air particles. This makes it more effective than the CX9 Smart Mask (97%), Project Hazel (95%), and AirPop Active+ Halo Smart Mask (99.3%).
In terms of aesthetics, ATMOBLUE isn’t the sleekest or most good-looking mask around. Personally, it looks bulky and quite heavy even if it isn’t. It weighs only 190 grams. But it does offer some kind of customization. Through its modular skin system, you can replace the cover with your preferred color skin. You can select from four configurations, including Pearl, Smoke, Light Pink, and Cement Grey.
With a lot of smart masks coming out today, it can be difficult to choose which one to buy. But if you are looking for the most effective in cleaning the air you breathe while keeping you comfortable, ATMOBLUE is a great choice. Sure, it’s not as cool and good-looking as the Razer Project Hazel or the AirPop Active+ Halo, but it can certainly provide you with more protection.
Take note, however, that ATMOBLUE offers no claims of any sort about protecting you from COVID-19.
