Krafton CEO Confirms PUBG Will Be Getting New Games By 2022

The company that brought you PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now set to push their game developments to the next level as they will bring in more games this year as well as next year. 

The company formerly known as Bluehole Inc. is also planning to have an initial public offering at around mid-to-late 2021 according to a report in Bloomberg and the IPO could value the startup at as much as $27.2 billion.

As per Kim Chang-han, CEO of PUBG Corporation, they are also creating an animated show that will be uploaded on streaming services as well as a web cartoon.

PUBG 2 Has Already Been In The Works

Krafton has been working on both PUBG and PUBG Mobile sequels according to this Twitter leak since last year.

This South Korean news report also claimed that Krafton was also working on a new game set in the PUBG universe codenamed “Project XTRM”. The article also stated that it had been in development since 2019 for PC, consoles and mobile and “was likely” to be PUBG 2.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still being widely played today averaging around 160,000 to 275,000 players daily last year according to Steam Charts and the community is still standing strong.

Additionally, the game has been receiving a lot of updates since last year with PUBG’s creative director Dave Curd teasing fans about their biggest maps that’s about to come this year.

With Krafton as its game publisher, this next horror masterpiece is set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320. The objective of the game is to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and unveil its terrifying secrets.

2021 is going to be exciting for Krafton with all this news going around and we shall see if they are able to deliver this year with all their plans lined up for the PUBG franchise.
