With Christmas coming in a few days, Oppo has surprised its consumers once again with the Reno 5 Pro+. After recently collaborating with Nendo with their “slide-phone” concept, it seems that this smartphone giant continues to push its innovative boundaries.

Earlier this month, Oppo just unveiled their Reno 5 series and China is going to get treated with another premium model on Christmas Eve.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ Camera Will Be Powered By Sony

It looks like Oppo has heavily invested in its back camera because it’s also reported that this phone will have a quad rear camera setup. Additionally, its primary camera will also be powered by the new Sony IMX766 camera sensor according to an official post from Oppo via Weibo.

Aside from its primary Sony 50-megapixel camera, the other sensors included in the quad setup will be a 13-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 2-megapixel cameras that can support ultrawide and macro shots.

The selfie camera will have 32-megapixels with f/2.4 aperture and a 26mm wide lens. The Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ will also support 4K video recording in 30fps as well as 1080p video recording of up to 120fps as per GSMArena.

More Monster Specs This Phone Has To Offer

Aside from its premium quality cameras, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ also sports a 4,400 mAh non-removable battery and supports 65W fast charging. It also has a display size of 6.55 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2400, 20:9 ratio.

The processor that will come with this amazing smartphone is a Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 running on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1. Comparing the 865 model to the new 888, we see that there’s not much difference when it comes to performance.

Judging from the latest comparisons, the Snapdragon 865 can still perform well in 2020 despite the 888 overtaking it by a small margin. Performance for the Snapdragon 865 had an overall score of 84 versus the 96 score of the 888 as per Nanoreview.

The slight processor downgrade won’t be an issue with this smartphone since the selling point of the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ is its Sony camera sensor and its speed is enough for the phone to last you years.
