After hearing reports of Microsoft getting its own wireless headset, we are now seeing Sonos entering the audiophile arena once again. This month, Sonos has reported record-breaking earnings last quarter due to their word-of-mouth marketing approach.
Our CEO @Patrick_Spence spoke with @YahooFinance about another record-breaking quarter and the word-of-mouth referrals that are our secret sauce. Thanks to our community for the loyalty and support—we look forward to continuing to serve! https://t.co/XBz2vbQr1V

Additionally, they also announced an upcoming product launch on March 9th and it looks like they might showcase another portable bluetooth speaker judging from the outdoor image displayed. There have also been reports that Sonos has filed a new design patent filing at the German Patent and Trademark Office for their noise-cancelling headphones. So expect that we might see one of the two products launching this coming March — or both.
A Cheaper Version Of The Sonos Move?
Early evidence suggests that Sonos has already prepared for the unveiling of their new portable speaker.
In their recent FCC filing spotted by The Verge, we see that the smaller portable speaker will have wireless charging support, which has been a trending feature that we are seeing with other gadgets.
Currently the Sonos Move costs around $399 so we might expect its smaller version to be slightly cheaper.
Headset Patent Might Compete With Apple AirPods Max
Sonos’ noise cancelling headset has been buzzing since last year and now we are seeing some changes happening with their latest patent filing starting off with the Sonos watermark is now visible in the latest design.
Additionally, the rods coming out of the headband now go straight down the ear cups which is similar to the Sony WH-1000XM4. A selling point that will make the Sonos wireless headphones stand out, would be its seamless integration with existing multi-room audio setups.
Although there has been no recent news about its possible price tag, a Bloomberg report suggests that their high-end headphones might be priced around $300.
If Sonos is able to deliver on this seamless integration feature, then the Apple AirPods Max is going to have a worthy competitor.
