With the launch of T-gram on Kickstarter, everyone can now enjoy hologram displays in the comfort of their homes. Designed by ATECH Net, the T-gram is a personal kit that allows you to use your phone or tablet to bring 3D holographic illusions to life. This creates beautiful floating images that give any space that futuristic and relaxing vibe. Pretty cool, right? Let’s learn more about this new tech here.

Overview

Holograms have been around since the 1940s. So they aren’t really new. However, even with today’s advanced technology, most hologram products still have surprisingly low quality. For one, their projections are easily disrupted. Some also have very limited projection capabilities. To address such issues, ATECH Net created the T-gram.

T-gram features a top-quality glass where real objects or animations will project clearly and continuously until you choose to turn it off – or until your phone or tablet runs out of battery. It also comes with its own hologram content platform and hologram creator application. This way you can choose and design the images you want to display.

In terms of price, the T-gram isn’t that bad, too. Priced at US$178, it is cheaper than some of the personal holographic displays today such as the Looking Glass Portrait and Holobox Slim. It is, however, more expensive than many 3D hologram fans on the market. Even better, you can experience the new T-gram at a much cheaper price if you catch its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Instead of paying the original price of US$178, you will only need to pay US$138.

Features

Easy-to-Use

One of the things we like about the T-gram is its ease of use. To project a hologram, you only need to place your tablet or smartphone in the designated slot located on top of the product. You’ll also use these devices to access and choose from the collection of hologram contents offered by the company.

You can use the T-gram with any smartphone, regardless of its size and model. It also works with any tablet or iPad as long as it doesn’t exceed 11 inches. So except for the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, you’ll have no problem projecting the 3D holographic images you want.

That said, you’ll probably want to use an old or extra tablet or smartphone with the T-gram. This way, you don’t have to keep stopping the projection every time you need to answer a call, read a message, or have to use your phone.

Wide Hologram Selection

The problem with some hologram products today is that the holograms they can project are limited. The Holobox Slim, for example, focuses more on holograms for specific characters or action figures. Sure, they also offer bubbles, northern lights, and a fireplace. But it’s nowhere near what the T-gram offers.

To give you an idea, you will be sent exclusive content digitally when you back T-gram on Kickstarter. You’ll also have more holograms selection through STARRAY, which is a hologram content platform. With it, you can search and download 3D holograms from creators around the world. Now, access to such a collection is currently free. But by 2023, users will be required to pay a subscription fee for the service.

With the T-gram, you can choose from an array of holograms, depending on your mood, the season, or occasion. For instance, you can set up a snow globe or a cozy fireplace hologram during winter. You can also choose a scenic view of nature before going to bed or when you want to relax and de-stress. Or, if you want, you can combine your own action figures with the T-gram, too.

XR Maker App

Aside from STARRAY, T-gram also comes with the XR Maker App, which allows you to create your own hologram content or 3D photo slide. While still in beta, this app offers big promises as it’s designed to provide every kind of asset and template you will need. So it’s great even for those just starting on design and 3D images. Like the STARRAY, this service will later become subscription-based.

Similar to the Holobox, the T-gram is designed with a glass panel that reflects the display of a tablet or smart device. This creates an illusory projection, bringing holograms to life and making them appear as though they are floating. And you will see them without needing to use 3D glasses or other accessories.

Now, what makes the T-gram different is its top-quality pyrolytic coating half-mirror. This helps you see the images clearly even in daylight or under bright lights. Add that with great holograms, and you are sure to get a beautiful art showcase in your home, no matter the time of day.

Design

The T-gram has three main components: the upper wooden part, the lower wooden part, and the reflective glass. On its own, it doesn’t really look much. But since it is wood with a very simple design, it will certainly go well with any decor.

To hide your device from sight, the T-gram comes with a top case. It’s plastic with the same wood-like color as its lower and upper parts and has a magnet to stay in its place. If this is too dull and simple for you, you can customize it and put on the stickers that come with the kit. Or, if you don’t mind paying an extra US$9, you can choose from a floral or geometric UV print top case to give your hologram kit more character.

Final Thoughts

T-gram is a great choice for those who want to make their living space or office more modern and futuristic. With its eye-catching and cool 3D holograms, it’s a perfect conversation piece. And it’s sure to leave an impression on anyone who sees it.

Aside from being a perfect digital interior decor, what puts T-gram above its competition is its practicality, ease of use, and wide selection of holograms. With everyone owning a tablet or smartphone, anyone will be able to use it. It also offers more free 3D holograms to display than other holographic products through its T-gram platform. Plus, you have total control over what you want to project. You can even use the XR Maker App to create a photo album slideshow of your family. Unfortunately, such services will not remain free as they will later become subscription-based. But you’ll be able to get free credits if you back this project on Kickstarter
