Design

Our Experience with The ErgoTune Supreme V3

The overall look and feel of the chair are great, the fabric on the seat and backrest is a slightly sheer net fabric that is stretched over the frame which a slight give. It’s firm, but not too hard. When seated, there’s a lot of room between the fabric and the componentry underneath, so there’s no chance you’ll end up feeling the frame through the seat.

Additionally, it is accompanied by a desk booklet guiding the user to make the most of the chair’s adjustment points, recline angle and resistance, armrest angle, and length. There are even activity-based adjustment guides that detail optimum seated position for focused work, drawing and creative work, and relaxation. Came across as a bit naff when I first read the booklet, but I’ve grown to use the relaxed mode when I’m reading long documents, watching videos, or anytime I’m not typing really.

The chair has some limitations for me, I’m a petite person (5’ 2) and there are some downfalls for me and for people my height. The armrests don’t adjust low enough for me to use when I’m in focus mode, and without using them, I hit my elbows on the plastic edges of the lumbar support.

There is also a ridge on the front of the seat pan that digs into my thighs, right behind my knees, I haven’t found the seat height and depth to adjust to exactly what I need. But, this is a limitation that would not affect people even slightly taller than me (I tested it on a 5’ 5 and a 6’ 2).

Also, the chair arrived packaged in such a large box I thought it must have been fully, or almost fully assembled, not the case. Quite a bit of assembly was required, but there was a poster of assembly instructions laid out comic style with pictures and large font, with QR codes that direct you to assembly videos (hands up if you usually ignore any accompanying guide).

On the plus side, the assembly was straightforward and took about 20 minutes, all parts and tools are provided. Overall, the packaging was good, but I’d like to see this company move away from bulky plastic packaging that inevitably ends up in the landfill.
