We spend dozens of hours researching kitchen appliance brands that everyone has heard about, as well as some other, less well-known ones. Maytag is also award-winning when it comes to its washer and dryer product lineup. But in the kitchen, its refrigerators are deemed popular. In fact, Maytag French Door – MFI2570FEZ was just dubbed as the Best Refrigerator of 2021 and the overall best Frech Door Refrigerator by USNews.

Panasonic is a household name. It has been around since 1918 and we’ve seen quite a lot of technologies released by this company since time immemorial.
It’s wildly popular when it comes to reliable microwave ovens. In the same report by Reliable Appliance, Panasonic was also cited as one of the most reliable appliance brands when it comes to microwave ovens.
The Spruce Eats dubbed the Panasonic Microwave Oven NN-SN966S as the best overall microwave oven for 2021. The same model is also picked by Amazon as the “Amazon’s Choice” Countertop Microwave Ovens.
Meanwhile, Consumer Report named three Panasonic countertop microwave models as a few of the Best Countertop Microwaves for 2021. First was the NN-GN68KS with FlashXpress. It highlighted the model’s impressive speed at heating and its defrosting and heating evenness.

Last year, in 2020, Panasonic North America won the Diamond award for Marketing Excellence Awards under the Repositioning the Brand category.
KitchenAid, as already mentioned before, is a kitchen appliance brand best known for bakers. It’s very much reliable, according to the same article by Reliable Appliance, naming the brand as one of the best when it comes to refrigerators, microwave ovens, cooktops and even dishwashers.
Along with its parent company Whirpool, KitchenAid was honoured with coveted iF Labels at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2018. One of its awards was bestowed upon its iconic Fridge. Meanwhile, during the 2019 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS), KitchenAid’s Smart Oven+ with Powered Attachments was one of the finalists under the Best Kitchen Product category.
The annual CES Innovation Awards program also recognized the same smart oven as one of the Innovation Award Honorees while the KitchenAid’s Cook Processor Connect was named the Best of Innovation Honoree.

Hisense is a company brand that was founded in China around 1994. So, it’s a fairly new brand compared to the others that have been around since the dawn of kitchen and home appliance technology.
The brand is most commonly seen in the refrigerator category. In fact, the Hisense Frech Door Fridge won the 2018 Product of the Year award under the Home Appliance Category in South Africa’s largest independent consumer-voted survey.
In Australia, the Hisense French Door was recognized as one of the Finder Retail Awards’ 69 Best Household Items for 2019/2020—a consumer survey conducted among Australian shoppers.
The same Hisense product was also included in Finder’s 2019/2020 Best Rated French Door Fridge range.
Last year, Hisense proudly bagged the Best Fridge Freezer and Induction Home Hob (for the stove) during the CES 2020. Overall, the brand won 8 awards; 6 of which were for its TV innovations.
Samsung, the South Korean tech conglomerate, is best for its smart tech innovation. Aside from being famous for its smartphone, Samsung also excels in kitchen home appliances, most especially with refrigerators.
It tied with Maytag as USNews’ Best Refrigerator and Best French Door Refrigerator of 2021, specifically the Samsung French Door – RF260BEAESR/AA. The same platform also branded Samsung’s other refrigerators as the following:

- Samsung Counter-Depth – RF18HFENBSR/AA as the Best Budget French Door for 2021

In the J.D. Power 2020 Kitchen Appliance Satisfaction Study, Samsung’s French Door Refrigerators dominated in performance, reliability, price range, style, features, and warranty among three other brands. Its Top Mount Freezers also tops the rankings against the other 5 brands—the same goes for its over-te-range microwaves.
So, if you’re on the lookout for the best refrigerators on the market right now, you might want to consider the Samsung brand. Although it’s on a pricey scale, the state-of-the-art performance and features may be worth the heavy purchase.
Aside from being the most reliable brand for washing machines and dryers, GE Appliances (GEA) is also deemed competitive (in reliability) when it comes to kitchen appliances like dishwashers, cooktops, ranges, and refrigerators.
Just this January 2021, the brand bagged a 3rd consecutive win for the “Smart Appliance Company of the Year” award during the 5th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program. Last year, GEA won the award for its “driving innovation in the appliance industry”, with its several “breakthrough” products, including the GE Appliances Kitchen Hub — among others.
This year, their grand slam win was all thanks to their new smart home innovation called the “Smart HQ Solutions.”
In terms of refrigerators, GE is right there on top beside Samsung and Maytag as its GE Side-By-Side – GSS25GSHSS was named “Best Side-by-Side Refrigerator of 2021” by USNews.
Sharp, just like Panasonic, is a household name. It’s been in the industry since time immemorial—founded in 1912.
Reliable Appliance also tagged Sharp as one of the most reliable brands when it comes to microwave ovens.
