At the rate things are going, it wouldn’t be surprising if there’ll be more plastics than fishes in our oceans. It’s also possible that we’re already ingesting tiny pieces of plastics through the seafood we’re eating. That said, we are in dire need of changing our ways – to which the REBO Smart Water Bottle can help you.
REBO is a smart bottle that encourages you to clean the planet as you drink. How? Let’s find out with this review.

Equipped with a sensor, rechargeable battery, LED, Bluetooth capability, and mobile app, REBO is the latest to join the smart bottle trend. And like similar products, it keeps track of your water intake and notifies you to stay hydrated throughout the whole day. Of course, it also prevents you from using single-use plastic bottles.
But what makes REBO truly unique and impressive is its dedication to helping save the environment by backing up the collection of plastic bottles in underprivileged communities. See, for every bottle of water you drink using REBO, the company will fund the collection of one plastic bottle that’s polluting the environment. So the more you drink, the more you’re helping clean the planet.
Unfortunately, REBO is quite expensive for something to hold your water. At a regular price of €99 or around US$118, it’s one of the priciest smart bottle around. It’s more expensive than some of the top brands in the market, including HidrateSpark 3, and HidrateSpark Steel.
The good news is, you can enjoy REBO and help the environment at a much cheaper price on Indiegogo. Instead of US$118, you’d only have to pay €79 or around US$95.
REBO features an accurate sensor to measure the bottle’s water level. This is important as it keeps track of how many bottles of water you’ve drunk. Remember, you are helping collect one plastic bottle for every bottle of water you drink.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
REBO’s battery life can last up to 2 months and one of the reasons why is the wireless technology it uses. Through BLE, the bottle can connect to your smartphone via the REBO app without using too much battery.
At the top of the cap, there’s an LED ring that lights up and reminds you to stay hydrated. It also shows you its charging status, displaying red when it’s low in battery and green when it’s fully charged.
Through the Rebo app, you can keep track of the amount of water you’ve drunk and compare it to a preset drinking goal. You can synchronize the app with some of the most popular workout applications in the market as well and build a customized hydration plan according to your physical activity. The Rebo app also allows you to input the amount of water you’ve drunk outside of the bottle and check for water refill points near you.

Rebo has the same capacity as most water bottles. It is the perfect size to carry enough water while remaining portable for everyday use. In terms of material, the company used a dual-wall insulated stainless steel 18/10, which is dishwasher-safe and said to keep your water hot for 12 hours and water cold for 24 hours. Its insulation system also prevents your bottle from “sweating.”
The bottle’s battery is worth mentioning as well. With regular use, it can last up to 2 months. So you can use it again and again without worrying about recharging. It’s also great that the company decided to use USB-C for charging since it’s faster and almost everyone and everything already uses it.
Rebo looks very simple and minimalistic. There’s no flashy branding, unusual shape, or glowing lights on the bottle. It is coated with an anti-scratch powder that provides a little bit of protection as well as a fine finish and texture. We also like Rebo’s bottle colors, which are all inspired by our marine life. You can choose from Atoll Turquoise, Turtle Green, Coral Orange, Ocean Blue, Iceberg White, and Dolphin Grey.
Additionally, the push cap is a great touch since you can easily open it with just one hand. This makes it the perfect fit for those always on the go. It also has a wide opening, which is big enough to fit ice cubes.
When it comes to choosing a smart water bottle, there are four things for you to consider: 1) water intake tracking, 2) use of a proprietary and user-friendly mobile app, 3) water intake reminder, and 4) stylish design. Rebo covers all these… and more.
Overall, Rebo offers the same benefits as every other reusable water bottle around, which is to prevent you from using one-time-use plastic bottles. While it’s more expensive, it does offer one thing other companies don’t – the chance to fund projects that help the environment and the less privileged. And that makes this smart bottle highly worth it.
